The BEST Nap Spots in Walt Disney World

As you may already know, we are HUGE Disney fans. We have been taking our oldest to the park since he was 6 months old. Now he is 6 and we have a 3-year-old as well. We have Annual Passes for 2024 and plan to share all the tips and tricks we use to allow us to go to Disney more often and have the best time while we are there.

To kick it off, let’s talk naptime! Even if your toddler no longer naps at home, there ain’t no tired like Disney tired and they will likely need a midday nap. While you can definitely head back to your resort for a midday rest (more on that later) we love a good park nap because sometimes none of us are ready to leave. A park nap allows our oldest to keep riding rides, and even allows my husband and me to child-swap and enjoy rides with our oldest. I will continue adding to this list as the series goes on so be sure to follow along, and check us out on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and/or YouTube for the latest details.

Magic Kingdom

Cosmic Ray’s: I never considered Cosmic Ray’s for a nap spot because I always associate this spot with the front room featuring musical performances by Sunny Eclipse.  That section of the restaurant is usually very loud and very busy.

Over the summer we found ourselves in a Florida mid-afternoon downpour and stopped inside to regroup and ride out the rain.  While our typical front room spot was packed, we continued past the food pickup area to the back corner only to find tons of seating with very few people around and beautiful views of the castle.  I knew immediately this was going to be a favorite nap spot of ours.

I prefer the entrance across from Cheshire Cafe.  There is a ramp that allows you easy access with your stroller to the back section of the restaurant, which I have found to be the most quiet.

There is another quiet side to the far left of the pickup windows, but I prefer the views of the castle on the right.

My youngest enjoyed the quiet and air conditioning for over an hour as he napped.  I relaxed, did some people-watching, and even had a bite to eat.

Guest Relations in Liberty Square: If you are looking at the Hall of Presidents, just to the right (across from the Christmas shop) is Guest Relations. This used to be a Passholder Lounge, and they kept one table and some chairs in the front corner. If my little one hasn’t already fallen asleep I do loops around the building, as the backside has cobblestone and that’s a surefire way to get him to sleep. Once he’s asleep, I pop inside for some AC, an outlet to charge my phone, and the opportunity to get off my feet for a bit. While there are people coming in and out for Guest Relations, this is usually a very quiet spot.

Tommorowland Terrace: This spot is primarily used for Fireworks Dessert Parties and is usually left open during the day for anyone to use. While the sides of the building are open, they do air condition the seating area. I would not recommend this spot during the summer months, but it’s great when temperatures are more mild. You can easily pick up a treat from Starbucks, the Ice Cream Parlor, or Casey’s and enjoy it at one of the many tables while your little one naps. There are restrooms located next to the seating area, as well as on the side of the building closest to Main Street before the ramp up to the table area.

Hollywood Studios

PizzeRizzo is often overlooked as it is tucked away in a corner near Muppets 3D. I walked in around noon on a summer day and had the place virtually to myself. I mobile ordered before arriving, grabbed my food, and headed to the back corner for some rest, AC, lunch, and of course, naptime for the little man. Check out our YouTube short to see how nice and cozy this spot is!

Epcot

Epcot is a great park for stroller naps. Between many large airconditioned areas in Future World and lots of quiet nooks throughout World Showcase, this is probably my favorite park for napping.

Connections Cafe AKA Starbucks: When Electric Umbrella became Connections I saw an Instagram Reel that said if you have dreamed of having lunch in the terminal at JFK Airport, this is the spot for you. And to be honest, they’re not wrong. The high ceilings, retro decor, and general hustle and bustle of the space definitely give airport vibes. However, this is a great spot to grab a seat and some AC while your little one naps. I definitely suggest getting them to fall asleep before entering, because there are a lot of distractions once you are inside and some kids may not fall asleep. My son has no issues staying asleep once inside though. With access to both Starbucks and Connections Eatery, this is a great opportunity to relax with a coffee or even grab a meal while your little one naps. If you are looking at the Starbucks counter, to the right and around the corner a bit there are tables that are not as widely used, are somewhat more dimly lit than the rest of the space, and unless it’s super busy, they are usually in less demand than tables adjacent to the eatery. There are restrooms on the opposite side of the building, should you need them.

Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom is probably the park I struggle with the most. The park is designed with a lot of outdoor spaces, which is great for the theme, but not so great for napping. But fear not, we have found some spaces that are great for a little peace and quiet, and some are even inside and air-conditioned.

Flame Tree Barbecue: While this one does not offer air conditioning, there are some covered pavilions and some of my favorite views in the park. If you enter near the food counter, I like to follow the paths, equipped with ramps, toward the opening near the water. There are several covered pavilions along the way, some of which have ceiling fans. While the area along the water is not directly covered, there is plenty of shade and there are great views of the waterfront where KiteTails used to take place. While this show was discontinued, character flotillas still take place along the Animal Kingdom waterways, and they pass by this area throughout the day. Even without the flotillas, there are beautiful views of Everest in the background. While the seating area is large, there is not a ton of room to maneuver the stroller, I strongly suggest making sure your little one is asleep before heading in, as there is not enough room to walk them around this area. Bonus: Flame Tree is one of my favorite quick services on property. Try the mac and cheese with pulled pork, onion rings, and coleslaw, you won’t be disappointed.

Stay tuned! We will be adding more spots in all 4 parks!
